How we met:

{mandy} - We actually attended Gaffney Senior High School together but didn't see each other for 13 years after that..  We happened to bump into each other while I was working a second job (2011) but I was in a relationship at the time and we didn't communicate after that brief encounter... Fast forward about a year (January 2012).  Shane noticed via Facebook that I had just experienced a break-up with the man I had been dating.  He emailed me some encouragement through my difficult time (the breakup and I had recently had hip surgery and was stuck at home alone) and a few days later I joined him for an innocent lunch to get me out of the house.  From that day forward we have spent time together every single day and it has been the best days of my life.  We went from hanging out as friends for support to falling in love in a matter of days...literally!

 

How we got engaged:

{mandy} - Like I mentioned, we fell in love FAST! Shane planned for us to take a quick getaway during Easter weekend to Daniel Island, SC.  On our first full day there we drove to the Isle Of Palms (April 6, 2012)...  Even though it was soooo cold we wanted to take a walk on the beach.  Little did I know Shane had an engagement ring in his pocket. We're standing there freezing and Shane tells me to look out at the ocean and asks me how far can I see.  I tell him "forever".  He says that's right and that he had to show me "forever" before he could ask me to spend forever with him.  Then he gets down on one knee and pulls out the most beautiful ring I have ever laid eyes on and asks me to be his wife.  I was so excited I could barely say yes!!  Looking back, it's like God set the stage and gave Shane the perfect moment to propose.  Yes, it was freezing but how else would we have had the whole beach to ourselves??...  Other than a random photographer that I was oblivious to... ha ha. Yes, my amazing fiance arranged for a photographer to make a 3+ hour drive to capture the proposal on film without me even knowing!  On our one week anniversary of being engaged he presented some of these pictures to me in frames.  Talk about speechless... That was the most thoughtful gift to me.  Who doesn't want to capture the best day of their life on film?
